Now Enrolling for November 12th
Now Enrolling For 1000 Hour Cosmetology and 1200 Hour Cosmo/Barber Programs!
There are many opportunities available in the cosmetology industry. A licensed cosmetologist can be an employee at a salon or you can be your own boss by renting a suite from a salon owner. After 3 years in the industry you could train to be a Cosmetology instructor. Product companies hire cosmetologists to travel to different places to be a product educator. You could also own your own salon. The possibilities are endless.
Cosmetology consists of technical and hands-on practical training in all areas of hair, skin and nails. Students will begin by observing live demonstrations and will also be given specific state approved instructions on step-by-step procedures such as: haircutting, coloring, styling, nail and skin procedures/services.
Upon observation, the student will start by practicing on mannequin heads with human hair. Students will receive technical theory instruction through lectures, videos and guest artists. Students are required to complete textbook assignments and pass multiple choice tests as they work through the chapters of their cosmetology textbook.
After a student completes their 11-week extensive freshman training, they will work on clients to build their skill, speed, and confidence. Students will use skills learned throughout the program, to help real clients with their hair, skin, and makeup. Instructors assist students throughout their floor experience to prepare them for the real salon environment.
